I’m a creative guy, love to make something from nothing. During my 32 years at IBM I created and innovated in my many roles. Working with the Hursley Lab in England I co-authored the first CICS Users Guide. Pioneered non-linear editing of videos. This led to a career within a career as customer testimonials were easy to produce and distribute to the sales teams.
Developed software to scan and store images in DB2 . I was asked by developer how did I do it as they were stumped. Later I became involved with IBM’s Software Partners that sell and provide solution services to clients. Manages an awesome team of seven working remotely from Canada to Argentina.
Upon being resourced in 2013 when 6,000 marketing people were let go. I went back to my programming roots learning Python and later AWS. Yet finding a entry level job with no documented experience was daunting. In the last few years my wife’s Dementia and Alzheimer’s became more pronounced and her abilities to do things like cooking. So I gradually took over.
Ah a new creative outlet!
